*Fullness ratios determine how much fabric is needed for each curtain heading in order to achieve the best drape.
E.g. to calculate make up fees for: Full length, triple pleat headed interlined curtains
- Decide the type of heading you would ideally prefer (if unsure, I recommend going by double pleat as standard), e.g. triple pleat
- Look at the table to find the ideal fullness ratio for your chosen heading, e.g. triple pleat = 2.25 ratio
- Measure the width of your window, adding 20cm to each side, if possible, to find pole length, e.g. 160cm + 20cm + 20cm = 2m pole length
- Multiply the pole length by the fullness ratio, e.g. 2m x 2.25 = 4.5m
- Divide this total by 137cm (a standard fabric width) and round up to nearest whole number, e.g. 4.5m/137cm = 3.28 = 4
- This gives you the number of drops required in order to achieve the desired look, e.g. 4 drops
- Look at corresponding prices per drop on the chart, e.g. 4 x £95 = £380 labour fees
In our example, this means we would need 4 drops of fabric = £380 curtain make up fees
